Ceramics came to me five years ago, almost by chance, when I stumbled upon a family workshop dedicated to modeling. At the time, I was working as an interior designer, a profession fueled by my passion for art, beautiful things, and manual creativity. Very quickly, I immersed myself in learning different techniques and clays, exploring, experimenting... until porcelain became the obvious choice. Its delicacy, its translucency, its velvety softness fascinated me.
For several years, I developed my technique and my world, sculpting and shaping this demanding material, until I decided to make ceramics my profession. A year ago, I undertook a vocational certificate in ceramics in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, my adopted region, to validate and enrich my knowledge. It was in Limoges, the French cradle of porcelain, that I deepened my expertise, combining technical precision and artistic freedom.
Through Sarang Porcelain, I seek to materialize the love of beautiful things, movement, and legends. My creations are imbued with strong and benevolent symbols, like the dragon, which was one of my first sculptures. This emblematic figure of Korean culture, protective and majestic, guided me in the construction of my universe. Inspired by Korean ceramic art, its traditions and refinement, I shape my colored porcelains in the mass, constantly seeking the depth of hues and the sensuality of the unglazed biscuit.
This year has been dedicated to giving birth to my world. Today, I look forward to sharing my work and presenting my pieces at my first national and international exhibitions.
Chinese Portrait – Sarang Porcelain
• If I were a material, I would be… porcelain, both fragile and resistant, fine and luminous.
• If I were a color, I would be… lavender, soothing and full of poetry.
• If I were an animal, I would be… a dragon, powerful and benevolent.
• If I were an element, I would be… water, fluid, adaptable and essential to all creation.
• If I were an era, I would be… the Joseon Dynasty, the peak period of Korean ceramic art.
• If I were a place, I would be… Seoul, between modernity and traditions, but also the island of Aix, my haven of peace in Charente-Maritime.
